1,500 watt DC Wind Generator for 12 or 24 volt battery systems.
This is a high speed rotor turbine. ( Land Version)
The base of the generator has a steel pivot tube that slides OVER any #40 1-1/2" PIPE.
One photo posted shows the generator sitting on a standard 1-1/2" pipe.
The top of your pole slips on an internal ring inside the steel tube allowing the generator pivot in the wind.
A one piece cable 2 feet long (About the size of a 200 amp welding cable) goes down the center of this tube, down your pole, and connects to your cable in rout to your batteries.
Positive, Negative, and Optional Ground are inside this cable.
It's very simple and nothing to wear out.
This generator is designed for very low wind areas from 6 mph - 14 mph.
The generator is very smooth turning and has very little magnet sticking, so you can expect the generator to turn as long as there is even a breeze.
If the blade is just turned by hand to get it moving, It will in fact continue to spin all day long with just a breeze from 3-6mph trickle charging at 12 volts. Light carbon fiber blades or plastic blades will not do this.
Blade startup rotation is 4 mph:
12 volts - 4.2 amps @ 6 mph winds.
1000 watts @ 25 mph - 1,500 watts @ 35 mph
12 volt blade is 5 feet long and is a true airfoil blade for wind generators, not plastic or light carbon fiber. Front of generator to end of tail vain is 5 feet.
Completely made is the USA. No imported parts or generators.
Your actual output charging current WILL vary depending on battery voltage, state of charge, type of batteries, condition of batteries, type of hookup cable used, size of cable used, elevation, and various losses from meters, shunts, and so on. This is why we do not post a set powercurve graph, only the no load - kick in readings for the voltage one is using. Instead we give a simple multimeter reading that is pretty much universal. With the above being explained, you could have readings from 300 up to 1,600 watts with this generator all based on the above factors.
You will need a blocking diode to prevent your batteries from turning the generator like a motor. The best type of diode to use on DC wind generators are called "Schottky" diodes or "Fast Recovery".
1,500 watt total package weight is 65 pounds.
There are oversized shipping fees for this generator due to the blade and tail section.
Complete 1,500 watt Generator is shipped in two separate boxes.
